Our Founders
Pastor Dusty, Dawn, Dinah, and Dawson DeBeof
Dusty and Dawn have been together since 2001. Dawn was born in Colombia, South America and was an orphan until she was 8 years old. Dusty was born in Ottumwa, Iowa and grew up in New Sharon, Iowa. Dinah was born in Geneso, Illinois and Dawson was born in Davenport, Iowa.
“We’ve had our challenges, our ups and downs, have lived in the world, and done all kinds of things, but through it all God never left us. His love, forgiveness, mercy, and discipline carried us through it all and we have been called to serve the orphans here in Legaspi City, Philippines. Once we start taking in kids, we will be able to help them through their tough times and relate with them in many ways. We WILL help them find Jesus their Savior and tell them how much He loves them and that He has a purpose for their lives and that He wants to use them to help others come to know Him too. We give God ALL the glory. We will NOT compromise God’s teachings in the scriptures. We fear nothing because we know, ‘If God be for us, who can stand against us.’ This is God’s promise to His children and we hold dear to that promise.”
As a family we love swimming, traveling, watching cartoons with our kids, praying together, and having coffee together. We are a very close family and miss everyone back home in the States, but we our so happy with the work we’re doing for the Lord.
Your brothers and sisters in Christ, Pastor Dusty, Dawn, Dinah, and Dawson
Our Vision
Our vision for Calvary’s Legacy Children’s Home (The Legacy Home for short) is first to show these children the love that they should have received from birth. They will be given an education. They will be brought up with the morals and ethics that will grow and shape these young children in to Godly men and women. We will be instilling a work ethic and responsibility. It is not enough just to raise and release. We need to raise up these children in the way that they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it. However, this is not just about the children lives destroy. As we reach into this community with the love of Christ it will give us a platform to minister the Gospel. I have just returned from Legaspi City where we have bought a little under 2 acres of ground and are preparing to build. We are also looking at another attached 2 acres that we may purchase if the Lord should lead that way.
God has led the whole way and we are depending on him to continue to lead. Thank you so much for your interest in what God is doing in our lives. God is so faithful and he is meeting our every need. He is meeting our need through his faithful people. People that have committed to regularly praying for The Legacy Home. People that have stepped in with a one time gift. People that have pledged to give a monthly figure for a set amount of time. People who have done all of the above. My prayer is this site will urge a movement of your spirit and God is telling you to be a part, that you would step out in faith, be obedient, and do what God is calling you to do. God has a purpose for each of his people and it may not be for you to sow into The Legacy Home. All that I would ask is that you would spend some time in prayer, and be obedient to His call in your heart.
